Integral to the Foundation's mission are direct service programs that offer individuals opportunities for personal growth.
Special Needs
Funding focuses on after school and summer programs that provide educational, social and recreational opportunities for individuals with special needs. The Foundation encourages projects that enhance one's ability to interact with his/her community; that empower families to become better advocates for their loved ones and that provide respite opportunities for families. Priorities also include professional development of special needs staff and a commitment to the assurance of personal safety and security of all individuals being served.
Youth Development
Funding supports comprehensive, long term after-school and summer programs for inner city youth that enhance self-esteem, build competencies, encourage continued education and provide opportunities for youth to reach their potential. Programs that include mentoring and educational supports, leadership skills, community involvement and/or internships opportunities are encouraged.
Intervention and Prevention
Funding focuses on comprehensive services that provide families and individuals with the tools and resources needed to overcome obstacles and learn new behaviors that will lead to more productive lives. Programs of particular interest are early intervention services for young children and support services for at-risk youth.
